Wrestled with a Spider and Lost!!

I got up this morning and started making breakfast and putting dishes away, getting ready to clean the kitchen for my usual Saturday morning cleaning!! and Look what was lurking under my dish drainer!!! Eeek!!!

I screamed!!! (did anyone hear??) and jumped so high I probably about hit the ceiling!!
Do you think my blood curdling screams would have Jim or Andy running to save me???

NO!
Andy was still sleeping... and I looked outside in the front yard and Jim was calmly chatting with a neighbor about his Harlie..... so I decided to take matters into my own hands. Thought if I could get him on a bottle or something and take him way outside I'd be okay.
BUT..
When I tried to get him on a bottle, he reared up and wiggled his front legs at me!!! UGH!!!!
I screamed again and jumped around the kitchen!!!
Still no one came running to my rescue... finally I hollered out the window and told Jim to come save me from the furry tarantula in the kitchen and he finally came in,
calmly picked up the pitcher it had decided to crawl up on... and took it outside.
Good grief! What a Monster!!! I'm still shaking!!

Weekend of the Big Bootie Butt Sisterhood of the Traveling Crafts

Well, Sarah and I thought we needed some mom and daughter time without talk of college and money and stressful things... so we came up with the idea to make a club and meet once a month and i'd teach her how to cook something and we'd do a craft. We call it the 'Weekends of the Big Bootie Butt Sisterhood of the Traveling Crafts"! Then we thought we'd invite whoever wanted to join us... So Emily and Marilyn did for our first get together and Baby Lincoln did too!!

We made Sarah's favorite from the "California PIzza Kitchen" Chicken Club Pizza and a BBQ chicken pizza. Marilyn did a vegi relish plate, and I found cookies at Kesler's Market that are almost like the GirlScout Samoas!! Yum!!

Then we started crafting and had fun with lots of giggles, and laughing and smiling....

We always have to make "Angelina lips" and lucky Sarah already has them so Me, Em and Mel had to improvise.. Marilyn got the giggles and couldn't hold her pose.

And of course we had to take pictures of our "Big Bootie Butts" hence the reason for the name of our club!

It was a fun day! We all made some cute things.. Wish I'd have thought to take a pic of it all. But here's a pic of mine!! I was excited with it!

After saying goodbye to Mel, EM and Lincoln, Sarah and I went to her apartment and hung up her clothes and cleaned her room. And danced in the rain at Walmart, Saw her crush, (the Dermotologist) and ate at Taco bell.
Then I drove home... got home at 11:30 PM.
But all in all I can't wait for another weekend of the "Big Bootie Butt Sisterhood of the Traveling Crafts"!

Memorial Day weekend

We had a good weekend! Friday after work Jim and I did our grocery shopping so we'd have time to play all weekend!
Saturday we got up and I cleaned the house (wasn't going to but had lots of energy) Even got to trade Andy and finished mowing the lawn to get a bit of sun on my white legs. Look what we found in our tree!!! Andrew rode round and round it without noticeing it at all!! Jim noticed this when he was using the push mower!! EEEKK!

We called a Bee guy to come and get them, he came Sunday after church and removed them by spraying them with water (so they would think it was raining and huddle closer together.) And it was a cooler stormy day, so they were calm. It worked. He got most of them before a downpour started... Monday we noticed we still had a baseball size clump in the tree but it's better than what it was. We'll have to call the Miller's honey guy!
Memorial day came... we had smoked a pork butt on Sunday so we made pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni salad, coleslaw, brats, chips and cookies and icecream. Had Mom and Dad, Brian and Jennifer and kids, Kim and Ang, and Jill and Jared and Karlie come to eat. It was a beautiful day! We ate in our back yard for a change. Here are some pics.

During all this we weeded the flower bed up front and put river rocks on the kidney shape flower bed for filler.. still need lots of rocks!!! Still need to weed my roses, but I"m scared of the hobos in the weeds!!!

I love my yard.... especially just after it's been mowed.
I also love different flowers.. I loved this plant.. it look like alien fingers...

My Babysitting kits

Last Tuesday, I made babysitting kits with my girls in Young Womens. I made canvas bags for each one, and bought fabric markers for them to decorate them anyway they wanted.

Then we made playdough.. I love homemade playdough!! which Katie had neon colored food coloring so we had some great playdough. Then I'd found some cute color books and crayons at the dollar store and of course, every babysitting kit needs some bubbles..

Then we made sock puppets to help with story telling. I got tube socks and inserted the toe for a mouth and sewed them down the sides so they wouldn't keep popping out. Then we added eyes and hair!!!

I loved that they all ended up smiling!!!Didn't mean to, they just ended up with a smile after I sewed the mouth!! We had fun.. Hopefully that will help the girls with their summer babysitting jobs!! I love my puppet.. named it Prisilla J. Puny!!

My cinco de mayo party!

Here's a pic of my finished pinata and some of my girls having fun! It was a great night... All the girls seemed to have a great time

!

The pinata broke before Rhyanna had a chance to hit it and it broke into a perfect hat.. so I made her pose.. she didn't really want to at first.. but then all the girls got into it!!

Katie is my advisor that helps me out.. she's so little and young she looks like one of my girls... but she's alot of help and really fun!

Saturday Mornings, tamales and pinatas!!

It's a rainy Saturday morning... so I thought I'd share what we all do on Saturdays... Usually I clean but decided to throw a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta with my Beehives this Tuesday since it falls on Tuesday!! .... so I'm making Tamales and a Pinata.. Jim usually dusts and vaccumes on Saturday and well you can see what Andy does....

Jim really got in to his dusting!!!
I made about 3 dozen shreddred pork tamales!! Yum!! But it took all afternoon!! THen I thought it'd be fun to make a pinata too!!
Those are messy!!
But after it's done, (it has to dry overnight) I'll post what it looks like.

We're going to eat mexican food, and talk about why there is Cinco de Mayo and then do a Pinata. Figured it would count in their personal progress for something like learning about another culture and trying different foods??
