Happy Birthday to Me!!

I think I celebrated my Birthday all weekend and then again on the real day, Monday the 19th. Seems odd to think I'm 46... I dont' feel 46... I've made it to the top of the hill and now begin the slow descent to the bottom.
Saturday we got up and puttered around the house; haircutting (Jim's) cooking, laundry, and spit shining the house.I even got to go hold Jills new baby (Whitney) when she came to visit Kim and Ang. She's sooooo cute. Then we got ready and went to I.F to shop and use my free "Birthday Burger" coupon at Red Robin's!! Yum!!!

My favorite burger is the "Banzai" Burger. Sarah happened to get to take her lunch break from Carino's and join us. We had a good time. Then Jim and I shopped. I went to Victoria's Secret, and Old Navy and got some cute things. Then we were thirsty so we got a sample at the green tea kiosk in the mall...well, I got caught up in the sells pitches and bought a box!! Yikes! expensive! Then we did a few more things and came home and did the weekly grocery shopping. I had to prepare my lesson for YW's on Sunday too. (I still was in shock about my green tea purchase!)
Sunday came, my lesson went well. After church I made Southwest Eggrolls, and a lemon cream cake!! It was such a warm, sunny day, Jim, Sarah, and I ate outside on the picnic table. (Andy was at church at his singles ward).

Later, Mom and Dad came down for a small party, and cake and ice cream. It was fun. I got a lot of cute cards, and felt special from all the happy Birthday wishes from family and friends on Facebook. Kim and Ang came a little later for cake too!

Then before you know it Monday rolls around. I got a nice card from work, and we always get a half day off with pay for our birthdays. So I met Sarah at Olive Garden and we had lunch. Then I took my green tea back and got my money back... I kept thinking that I can get crystal light packets for way cheap. Then I went to Famous Foot wear, and got tennis shoes, and brown sandals, and then went to Best buy and got a CD all for about the same amount as the Green Tea!! woo hooo!!! Then we went into Downeast outfitters, and tried on glasses!! We picked some of the biggest ones they had..........

.... don't we look like a couple of bugs???? (pic is a little blurry cuz we took it on my phone camera, but we captured the moment!) Sarah and I had a fun day. Then it was back home to cook for my boys and Sarah went off to clean her apartment.
This work week has gone fast. I had Yw's on Tues, and I took some clothes of Sarah's that she didn't wear anymore and gave them to my girls there. They had so much fun trying them on and putting on a fashion show for me and Katy!
I had another meeting on Wednesday, an Auxilary training meeting. Plus , Kim needed me to make a sheet cake for his SAGE branch birthdays. But I got it all done.
Tonight was the first night I didn't have anything, so I thought I'd catch up on here.
I'm so thankful for my family, that's all that makes life fun, is spending time with them and visiting and just being happy.

Changes in bedrooms

Andy has been wanting to move into Sarah's room ever since she moved to Rexburg again and claimed she'd probably never move back home. But it was bubblegum pink. So during Spring Break a couple of weeks ago, he painted it Cactus green... kind of reminded me of watermelon before he got a good coat on it. I helped some with the trim. It looks really nice... eventually we're going to do all the trim white to match the trim we did during our remodel. And we desperately need new carpet as well.
But so far it looks really nice. He's slowly starting to move his stuff from one room to the new room. I can't believe how much stuff he had crammed into his room. No wonder I couldn't get to where I needed to to put his laundry away. But we'll pack up stuff to put in storage and throw other stuff away until he has just what he uses and needs in his new room.
Then it's my turn to pack up stuff for storage and throw away stuff of mine and stuff that Sarah left. We'll turn the other room into a spare bedroom/craft room! Will be nice.. I can work on a project and shut the door on it and come back to where I left off instead of cluttering up the kitchen table... Like that isn't cluttered enough! Ha!
I just wish I had more time to do stuff! Weekends go way to fast with cleaning and getting ready for Sunday lessons and things. Before I know it, it's Monday and I'm off to work again. But in this day and age I guess I should be glad I have a job...
It seems in the evenings I cook dinner, and clean up and then I'm out of gas and haven't gotten anything done. But the doctor did say it'd be a good 3 months before I get all my energy back after my surgery. So now it's been two......
I will post some pictures as soon as the new rooms are done... will be nice!
But back to work I go!

Happy Easter!

I love this picture of Christ... and I'm thankful for the Atonement and what it means to me to be able to live with my family again. Can't imagine being without them ever.....

It's Easter Sunday, we spent the day watching conference (conference was good) and other good shows on the BYU channel. We had French toast and bacon this morning and I made ribs and Potato Salad for dinner. We also had lots of peanut butter eggs, foil wrapped eggs and malt ball eggs to munch. Now I feel fat.
Sarah came down and we painted our toe nails and colored in her huge princess coloring book while we watched conference. I enjoyed it and the day.
But for some reason I guess I'm feeling let down. Don't know if it's cuz its Monday tomorrow, or that conference is over, or that my kids are too big to color Easter eggs, or what.
Could be that the weather has been acting like it's January all over again and I need the sunshine and the hope that new spring flowers and leaf buds bring.
And the weekend is over, and all I got to do was cook, but I didn't get my crafts in that I wanted.....oh well..
Hopefully tomorrow will be sunny and go by fast while I'm at work. I'm going to try to get up at 5:45 and walk on my tread mill while reading the ensign, or scriptures for a half an hour.
Just my random "I'm feeling blue" thoughts that need to get out.........

Easter Weekend

Well, it certainly doesn't feel like Easter! It feels more like Christmas! This is what we woke up to this morning!! I think all the Easter egg hunts were either cancelled or held inside!

We even heard a robin outside this morning... he sounded pitiful...
It's conference weekend! I love conference. It sure brings a warm spirit into your household. Sometimes the things they talk on are just what I needed to hear.
Today I'm just puttering around spit shining the house. I cut Jim's hair and am frosting and trimming mine. Sarah is coming to stay for the weekend. I'm going to make Vegetable Beef soup and homemade bread since it's blustery outside. Tonight Sarah and I will visit Mom while the men go to the priesthood session.
Tomorrow we'll watch conference again while giving each other pedicures, and I'm making ribs. Not sure if Dave will join us or not.
I love weekends when you can stay home and spend time with family.
I'm also grateful for Easter and the Atonement and that we can still be with family in the life after this one, and the hope it brings to us.
