I'm having a hard time aging gracefully.... I miss the days when I should straighten my hair... not wear glasses... felt like exercising and felt well pretty and desirable. Those days when I would go shopping with Sarah in Salt Lake and still felt like I would get looked at too. I didn't see the wrinkles I do (that might be cuz I got glasses.. LOL)
I loved my hair like this and felt pretty. But it's funny.. time goes by and you still feel like that person then one day you wake up and you see more wrinkles... and you feel to tired to exercise... and you have to let your hair go back to being curly or it falls out... and you can't see things like you used to so you get glasses... and you start feeling like one of those older ladies that looks 'momish'.... not that that's bad but you become a different generation... the one where you don't get stared at like you used to but notice the looks your daughter gets.... sometimes you even dare go into to stores without doing your hair, and like wearing sweats around the house.... it's hard to explain... you start to feel different. and sometimes you just wish you could turn back time.....

It's soooo hard to catch up on a blog when you get behind. I have tons of pics to post to make books with... but I decide to post more cakes I have made this past summer, it's been busy but way fun! One lesson learned. I will never book more than 1 cake on a weekend. Makes for a grumpy husband and stress filled days..

He wouldn't let them cut it for a week.. they ate the cupcakes on his birthday. LOL
They finally ate the cake but he still has the remote. Said he's saving that forever!
Wow!! that's a LOT of cakes! Some were more fun to make than others, but most were well appreciated and hearing that they love their cakes soooo much they don't want to eat them is why I make cakes! I love to make people happy if only on their birthday or wedding day or whatever special day it is :)

Life is busy.....
I haven't posted much lately... I have posted recipes but tend to neglect this blog. We just had girl's camp and talked about how important it is to write a journal. Yes this is my journal. Being in Young Women's has taken a lot of time, plus I was asked to make a wedding cake for a friend, and I work too. Work hasn't been bad. I got moved to a different office and we had our hours cut back to 30 a week...which meant every other Tuesday off and the other tuesday I would get off a 2. I needed that. Sometimes you just need a day to your self, or a day to prepare for Young Women's or a day you can schedule doctor appoints.. you name it.
But alas, I'm back to 40 hours a week. Today I needed to call in sick..... so here I am journaling :)
I am going to try to catch up on the important things that have happened the last year... i'm just a little over a year behind. but I will also write my thoughts in now and then.
I love having projects to do that use my create-ability... I have another wedding cake in august. I'm not going to get myself too busy, I just will do them for friends and family. I don't charge much, I like to do them for fun and the experience. :)
I also like to experiment with cookies and frosting them differently. I made some for the same wedding I made the cake for . Here are some pics....
I made the flowers form gum paste and the lace was edible lace that I tried out for the first time ever. I was happy with the way the cake turned out and so was the wedding party .
I love the way these cookies look... they were way fun to make.

But I guess I should go... got to start on the gum paste flowers for my next cake in august, making tiger lilies and briar roses... :)

March continued....
We made it to Juli's house! The first day in Arizona was way fun. we decided to go shopping. Quin needed a skirt and Sarah and I LOVE shopping. We went to a little strip mall that has Quin's favorite store.... and of course we couldn't pass up a photo opportunity when we see one....
Aren't Quin and Sarah cute??
then Juli and I had to give it a shot...........not quite as cute as Quin and Sarah LOL
Then it was time for lunch... I had never eaten at Firehouse Subs before.. it's alot like Subway but you can mix your own flavor of Coke. We were really excited to give it a try. Sarah mixed the perfect flavor of Cherry Coke and was sooo excited to try it! Then she proceeded to slowly drop it down the front of herself and was totally sad.... and embarrassed. It was quite funny..at least to the rest of us.
But after we recovered from the shock of Sarah spilling her 'Perfect Cherry Coke" and she got another, our food came. We decided to eat outside and enjoy the Arizona sunshine...and take advantage of another photo opt....................
Oh trying to be young and cute like Sarah and Quin just doesn't seem to work for me...
but we had a great time. We shopped at the big mall too. Sarah got told she had 'swag' by a black guy in a furniture store...he liked her swag.
Then we spent the evening at Juli's house with french bread pizza, key lime sugar cookie bars and hilarious board games with all of Juli's family and friend Dwayne. We had quite a fun time and laughed so hard! :) it was super fun.
The next day we stayed home and gave ourselves manicures in the afternoon.....
guess who's hand is whose...................
oops cut off Juli.... here's another shot. it's a little blurry but you can see her hand. Did you guess right?
Sarah and I were proud of our nails.....I have never had long nails and didn't quite know how to function.
Later Sarah, Juli and I went to another mall. LOVE It! it's all outside and is a couple of blocks long and wide. SOOOO fun!
We had a nice lady take our picutre..I resemble Mrs. Roper from '3's company... but she loved my hair. We loved our nails.
We ate at Brio's Tuscan Grill... oh my! Food there is soooo goood! and of course Sarah got hit on again. I thought the bus boys and waiters were going to trip over each other staring at her. As we were walking out, one came up and whispered in her ear that she was f...........beautiful! how would that be?? She was flattered. We had a good time wandering around after that. and the mall was gorgeous all lit up and the sunset was beautiful.
one last picture of us 3 manicured ladies in new shirts and long nails...
And Sarah was rather fond of Wiley.......
Then we hit the road......................and what a long road it was..................
I Love road trips and driving! and Sarah loved to be the passenger best.........she made a cute one!
She sang to the music! Then we made it to Las Vegas.....and took advantage of another photo opt.

We enjoyed our stay in Arizona! Juli's family is sooo fun! and we loved the weather in Arizona, but it was time to head back home. So Saturday morning we said our good buys and headed back to Las Vegas....
First we had to showe... we doddled cuz we didn't want to leave...........
Had to say our good byes... and take a few pictures for memories.one last picture of us 3 manicured ladies in new shirts and long nails...

It was only 5 in the afternoon....so with another cruise up and down the strip, we thought rather than stay in Vegas...we would try for St. George. Then once in St. George we ate dinner at Winger's. Then thought rather than spend money on a motel, let's just drive onto Provo! So we did. Taking turns driving and napping we finally made it to Prove at 1 AM! and went to bed and slept and slept....
We got up and went to Olive Garden for lunch. So Sarah could introduce me to her best friends Zach and Alex. They are cute guys and way nice to Sarah. I'm so glad she has them....
We were slightly slap happy from our long drive home... and got silly with the wine glasses.
And the menu has so many choices... who could decide what to get???
We finally decided... Sarah got fettuccine and I got my fave. Portebella ravioli. YUMMO!
Then I had to say my good-byes to my lovely daughter and best friend and head back into the reality of real life. It was a way fun get away and Spring break. I love my daughter with all my heart. I hope we always have the relationship that we have now. :)
March was a busy month! one more post and I'll be on to April!! :)
